CITY farms is growing young leaders

Since 2019, City Farms has been cultivating community through the practice of farming on partner campuses across the city of Chattanooga.

MISSION

City Farms Growers Coalition works to achieve food justice in low income neighborhoods of Chattanooga through collaborative partnerships, experiential learning opportunities, and hands-on training in urban agriculture.

our partners

Our work is made possible by a rich network of partners all across the city of Chattanooga. Seedlings are started at the Westside Greenhouse and then planted at The Howard Roots Farm, Help Right Here, and Neema Taking Root Community Garden. From there a coalition of students, volunteers, and residents raise the plants from sowing to harvest and grow plenty to share with our neighbors. All of our partners help us advance our vision of a community of empowered, self-determined people breaking down barriers of race, class, and culture to defeat poverty and hunger in Chattanooga.

Meet the Board

Our working board is made up of community members with a passion for good food and healthy people.
